Mandate: 1. to provide support to the Head Coach and coaches in the application of COVID protocols in all facilities and areas used by coaches, athletes, parents, volunteers and other members of the CHSSS. 2. Provide a presence in the sparrowhawk to ensure compliance with ECSSS protocols related to COVID-19 as well as those of its partners and governing bodies (CNESST, Summits, Public Health, SQA and DLS). 3. Gather data and share observations with the Head Coach and the Board, all to help the COVID-19 improve its operations and share information with its members. COVID Brigade Requirements. The volunteer must enforce sanitary measures at the Hawk: - 1 volunteer per training block - Volunteers must be identified with an orange armband - Cleaning of tables (must be done after the departure of athletes and coaches) - Cleaning of the stairway to the bathroom - Cleaning of the beverage machine - Respecting the distance and maximum permit of 25 athletes in the Hawk - Cleaning of hands upon entry - Observations should be shared prior to departure with the manager. - Any observations requiring immediate action should be reported to Mathieu Lauzon at 450-275-7125 as soon as possible. He is responsible for the accuracy of the timing. He must make sure before a race (4 weeks before the race) that all his devices are in good working order, clean and dry without any moisture. The same applies to the cells of the finish.
He is responsible for obtaining the list of runners from the DLS or SQA before the race, when required, and verify, in races where runners have points, that these have been counted and are up to date.
Using these lists, he will prepare the start lists or draw lists as required.
On the day of the race, he/she must ensure that he/she has the start list and is at the finish hut at least 90 minutes before the start. He is responsible for the accurate and timely calculation of results. Oversees the immediate reproduction of unofficial results and the publication of official results after the time limit for complaints has expired or after complaints have been settled.
He shall ensure that the hand timers are synchronized at the start and finish, at least 60 minutes before the start. The Chief Timer sets the pace of the race by starting the runners according to the procedure set out in the rules for each event. He must have the time checked by the Technical Delegate.

Ensures that the racers cross the finish line according to the standards: on 2 skis, 1 ski, or without skis;
He makes sure that the racers are behaving in a sporting manner in the finish area; notes on his list the racers who have crossed the finish line; clearly and distinctly records the racers who have not crossed the finish line (DNF), clearly and distinctly records the racers who have been disqualified for irregularity in crossing the finish line (DSQ).

Announce the passage to the finish of the first opener.
Respond to inquiries from other Jury members as to whether the course is clear (clear race).
Always be available for runners who come to you for a restart.
Identify and note the reason for the request (e.g., where the obstruction occurred, at which gate, which official may have seen the obstruction).
You can grant the restart on the spot, but it is recommended to validate with the referee. In case of doubt, it is better to grant a conditional restart and decide on its validity after the end of the round.
Immediately inform the Starter of the number of the rider who is on his way to the start to make a restart.
On the start list you took from the secretary's office, record the order of finish and all DNS, DNF and DSQ to allow comparison with the gate judges' cards.
Prevent TDR runners and track workers from crossing the finish line. If any of them manage to cross the finish line, notify the electronic timing staff immediately.
Ensure that the surface of the finish area remains smooth and clear. If you see snow piles, ask the Race Director to send personnel to clear them. Ask for a race stop to clear the snow, remembering to notify the timekeepers.
When a Jury member has stopped the race and it is time to start again, he/she must confirm that the bottom of the course is clear, if this is the case.
If necessary, please reapply dye to the finish line.
If there is a shortage of gatekeepers, you may be asked to watch the last gates.

The starting judge must be at the start before and during the competition. He controls access to the course. He must be present 10 minutes before the inspection to open the access to the inspection and, afterwards, close the access to the inspection.

He must ensure, before letting down the last runner, that there is no request for a restart in which case the runner making such a request must be inserted before the last runner on the list.
At the end of each run, he reports to the referee, giving the names of the runners who did not start, who made a false start, those who were late to the start or who committed other breaches of rules.
The judges bring with them an "emergency kit" containing: race numbers, felt-tip pen, paper or cardboard, a spare stick for the gate.
